He won the final inner election against lawmaker Sim Sangjeong with 53 to 47 percent of support rating.

The Presidential candidate Kwon began his political career from the first chairman of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and was elected to the lawmaker of Changwon, Kyungnam province.

It is the third time for candidate Kwon to run for President as a lonely progressive candidate while he pulls up his and KDLP's support rating dramatically every time.

He won the just 300 thousand votes for his first challenge in 1997 and 900 thousand in 2002.

Candidate Kwon aimed at the election apparently but his actual goal is getting 3 milion votes over enough number to show the possibility of progressive regime.

Candidate Kwon went and worshiped the Memorial Park for the 5.18 Gwangju Democratic Novement and the Seoul National Cemetery as soon as he won the party inner competition.

He also visited Jeju island seriously defeated from the typhoon Nari and the cell of slum in Yongsan, Seoul early this week.

The opinion polls recently show 11 percent or more support rating for Candidate Kwon.
